Al cinema! Andreas Baumann e Alexander Graeff

Bene, la proiezione per me più emozionante l’ho vissuta nella primavera del 2000 con un film per bambini, un grande successo in Germania: i Pokemon. In quel momento ero il capo operatore di una sala cinematografica con 8 schermi a Waiblingen (TraumpalastWaiblingen).
Abbiamo pubblicizzato la proiezione speciale per i bambini in collaborazione con un grande negozio di elettronica. Il negozio ha distribuito buoni gratuiti per i bambini dei loro clienti.
Nei giorni prima della proiezione, i ragazzi si sono azzuffati pur di ottenere questo buono ... e così abbiamo dovuto ampliare il numero di proiezioni, e ogni proiezione era completamente gremita di... bambini!
Ero io il proiezionista di quel film. I bambini hanno atteso e quando ho spento le luci, la sala al gran completo con 270 bambini ha iniziato a gridare, applaudire e piangere ... I popcorn stavano volando su tutti i posti ed è stato uno scenario incredibile. E 'stato divertente osservare i bambini reagire in questo modo alla proiezione ... estremamente entusiasti.
Mi piacerebbe che cose come queste accadessero più spesso oggi... soprattutto per gli adulti.
Qualche volta gli adulti possono imparare molto dai bambini.

Una delle proiezioni più memorabili cui abbia assistito è stata quella di Bastardi senza gloria al cinema Max Linder a Parigi, il 19 agosto 2009. Non solo mi è piaciuto molto il film ma era anche la prima volta che sono andato al cinema durante la mia prima lunga permanenza a Parigi. Mi piace molto quel cinema, con i suoi interni neri, le pareti scure e le sedie che sembrano assorbire tutta la luce. Il cinema Max Linder ha un meraviglioso soppalco da cui si gode di una vista diretta sullo schermo. Tutto questo è successo prima della digitalizzazione, e così ho guardato una delle ultime belle proiezioni analogiche di questo cinema.

Well, my most impressive screening I had in the spring of the year 2000 with a kids movie and a huge trend in Germany called "Pokemon". At this time, I was a technical leader of a cinema hall with 8 screens in Waiblingen (Traumpalast Waiblingen).
We announced a screening for kids in cooperation with a big electronic store. The store made free vouchers for the kids of their customers for free. In the days before the screening, the kids struggled a lot to get such a voucher... we had to expand the number of screenings and every screening was
fully crowded with... kids! I was the guy, who projected the movie. The kids waited and when I turned of the lights, the complete screening room with 270 kids started to cheer and clap and cry... popcorn was flying all over the seats and it was an amazing scenery. It was funny to observe the kids, reacting on this way on a screening... extremely enthusiastic.
I would wish, that things like this would happen today more often... especially for adults. Sometimes, adults can learn a lot from the kids.

One of my memorable screenings was the screening of Inglourious Basterds at the cinema Max Linder in Paris, the 19th of August 2009. Not only that I liked the movie very much but it was also the first time I went to a movie theatre during my first long habitation in Paris. I really love the cinema with its black interior, dark walls and chairs that absorb all gratuitous light. Max Linder has a wonderful mezzanine from where you have an overwhelming direct view onto the screen. And it was before the digitization, thus I watched one of the last beautiful mechanical projections in this cinema.
